Its taken some time but I've finally arrived. It was not the plan to stop over in Santiago for as long as I did but to make as much progress back up into the North Americas as quickly as possible. Unfortunately FSX on my computer decided to have a crisis and finally give up the ghost. After a long delay, a new graphics card and a new flight platform (yes. . . I am now on P3D, which is far far far more stable!!) I hope to get this around the world trip back on the road.
It would seem that after such a long hiatus, I have completely forgotten how to fly a 737 (or rather to land). So I have had to have a few practice runs (read . . crash landing, go back to the start). Getting to grips with the PMDG 737 on P3D has been enjoyable and worth the effort of reloading all the FSX software

Latam Airline (formely LAN Airlines)Flight: LA642737NG: |
Time to swap airlines once again. It was difficult to find as scheduled flight between SCEL and SGAS. It would appear that the only direct flight is operated by LATAM and they run it as a red eye flight. Departing at 23H20.
LATAM is the amalgamation of TAM and LAN Airlines in 2015 (Wikipedia). You can book tickets on LATAN Airlines here. This flight would have cost you £417 on the day. I could not find any new livery for the PMDG 737, so settled on this TAM repaint available in the PMDG operation centre. The next time I fly LATAM and upgrade to the 777, please remind me about the repaint from BravoZuluStudio here. |

Routing |
A fairly interest routing out of Santiago on 17R using the ESLAR departure for TABON 1A. Needing as much height before crossing back over the Andes Mountains ( these are some seriously tall mountains)

Weather & Scenary: | Seat belt sign on for the descent into Asuncion. Isolated thunder clouds and rain made it a bit bumpy. With this being a night flight there was not much to see out of the window. | |
Airport Scenary |
Asuncion Silvio Pettirossi International was been reproduced by TAXI2GATE and available on SimMarkt here.
